DATA I/O 29B Universal Programmer
Serial port to PC connection lead
This is the pinout for constructing a lead to connect a Data I/O 29B Universal device programmer to a PC Serial port, so you can use the Promlink Software. It may very well work for other Data I/O programmers as well, but has only been tested in the 29B

In order to get the PC to communicate with the programmer correctly, several DIP switches and a rotary switch must be set correctly.
The Rotary switch is at the back of the unit. It sets the baud rate. 9600 is recommended, but you can use any setting up to 19,200 baud, as long as you set the options in PromLink.
The Parity is in the compartment that the programming pak plugs into. Again, check these settings are correct in PromLink. The recommended settings are not as shown, but are Odd Parity, Parity Off, and 1 Stop Bit. The Spare switch is not used.
